A fresh controversy has erupted as the BJP has once again alleged that derogatory slogans targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother were raised at an RJD rally led by Tejashwi Yadav.”
This comes weeks after Prime Minister Modi accused the RJD-Congress alliance of insulting his late mother, Heeraben Modi. The RJD has denied the BJP’s claim, accusing the party of circulating a doctored video to defame it ahead of the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections.
Video Shared by BJP Sparks Controversy
The controversy erupted after the Bihar unit of the BJP shared a video on X showing RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav speaking from a rally stage. Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, is currently on his “Bihar Adhikar Yatra” to mobilize support ahead of the upcoming state elections.
In the video circulated by the BJP, a man can be heard allegedly abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother while Yadav addresses the crowd. The authenticity of the video has not been independently verified by Zee News.
“Abusive RJD – Tejaswi’s Mother-Sister Abusive Scheme Tejaswi once again got the late mother of Modi ji abused in his rally. The more the RJD workers were abusing, the more Tejaswi was boosting their morale. These days, the RJD-Congress rallies have a single agenda – “Abuse the mother-sister.” Their abusive behavior continues. Their goon mentality, frustration, and desperation have reached their peak. The people of Bihar will not forgive those who insult the mother; it is a symbol of their fallen values. The mothers and sisters of Bihar will hold them accountable for every abuse,” BJP said in a post on X.

Audio Manipulated To Defame Tejashwi Yadav
RJD MLA Dr Mukesh Roushan defended Tejashwi Yadav, saying the Leader of Opposition’s speech in Mahua, part of the Bihar Adhikar Yatra, can be viewed in full on his Facebook page. He claimed that the video shared by the BJP had been manipulated, asserting that no one in the rally abused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that Yadav’s voice was not even part of the doctored audio, which he described as a deliberate attempt to defame the RJD leader.
“Honorable Leader of Opposition Shri Tejashwi Prasad Yadav ji is giving a speech today during the Bihar Adhikar Yatra in Mahua, which is on my Facebook page, and you can listen to it. In that speech, no worker or person has abused the Honorable Prime Minister ji. The video being shared by BJP people does not even have the voice of Honorable Leader of Opposition Shri Tejashwi Prasad Yadav ji. This video’s audio has been manipulated to defame him as part of a conspiracy,” he said in a social media post.
In August 2025, a controversy arose after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother was allegedly insulted by unidentified individuals during the Congress-led ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, attended by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
