Breaking : BCCI Announces Squad For ODI Womens World Cup 2025, Renuka Returns, Shefali Misses, Know Full Squad

India’s Women’s World Cup squad has been announced, with Harmanpreet Kaur named as the captain and Smriti Mandhana as the vice-captain. However, Shafali Verma has been left out of the 15-member team. The 50-over tournament is scheduled to begin on September 30, with India set to face Sri Lanka in the opening match. India has yet to win the Women’s World Cup, but the team reached the final under Mithali Raj’s captaincy in 2017, where they were defeated by England at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The team that played in the recent series against England has been retained more or so with Only Shafali missingout.

 

Along with the World Cup squad, chief selector Neetu David and captain Harmanpreet Kaur also revealed the team selected for the upcoming series against Australia. Harmanpreet Kaur expressed the significance of the tournament for her, emphasizing, “Personally, this tournament is very important for me. This is a home World Cup. Home World Cups for special for every player. I have a lot of experience of batting at No.4, I am just looking to contribute for the team,” she said during a press conference on Tuesday.

The squad for the series against Australia includes Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Renuka Singh Thakur, Arundhati Reddy, Richa Ghosh (WK), Kranti Gaud, Sayali Satghare, Radha Yadav, Sree Charani, Yastika Bhatia (WK), and Sneh Rana.

For the Women’s World Cup, the team consists of Harmanpreet Kaur as captain, Smriti Mandhana as vice-captain, Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Renuka Singh Thakur, Arundhati Reddy, Richa Ghosh (WK), Kranti Gaud, Amanjot Kaur, Radha Yadav, Sree Charani, Yastika Bhatia (WK), and Sneh Rana.
