Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on August 2 at 11 AM, during his visit to Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency. This comes as a big boost for farmers across the country.
Under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, nearly 10 crore farmers will receive ₹2,000 each directly in their bank accounts. The Centre will transfer a total of Rs 20,500 crore as part of this installment.
The PM-Kisan scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year to eligible farmers in three equal installments. The upcoming payout aims to support farmers ahead of the sowing season and ease input cost pressures.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi shared,
“For my family members in Kashi, tomorrow, August 2, is a very special day. Around 11 in the morning, I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several projects related to education, health, sports, tourism, and connectivity. On this occasion, I will also have the privilege of releasing the 20th installment of PM-Kisan.”
