India on Friday blocked Austrian economist Gunther Fehlinger-Jahn’s X account after he shared a controversial post calling for the “dismantling” of India.
The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology flagged the content and instructed the Elon Musk-led platform to block the account in the country, as per media report.
“I call to dismantle India into ExIndia as India as Modi as stabbed Ukraine and European Union in back by submitting India to Russia and China at Shanghai Summit Tianjin,” Fehlinger-Jahn said in a post on X.
Indian Territories As Part Of Pakistan, Khalistan And Bangladesh
According to media reports, Fehlinger-Jahn also shared a map showing nearly all Indian territories as part of Pakistan, Khalistan, and Bangladesh.
Priyanka Chaturvedi Reacts
Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi reacted to a post sharing the screenshot, terming the remarks as “insanity” and urging the MEA to raise the issue with the Austrian Embassy. “What insanity is this? MEA must take this up with the Austrian Embassy,” she said.
100% Tariffs
Earlier in another post on X, Fehlinger-Jahn had criticized Modi for allegedly “backstabbing” Ukraine and Europe in favor of China and Putin, and called for the imposition of secondary sanctions, and 100% tariffs.
“I call to punish India and not to reward Modi for backstabbing Ukraine and Europe in China with his new best friend Putin. We need to shift gear and tack. No more EU FTA for India. Boycott India fully. Secondary sanction India.
100% tariffs on India Until Modi falls and India breaks,” he said in another post on X.
SCO Summit
Fehlinger-Jahn began targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India following PM Modi’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the SCO Summit in Tianjin on Monday. During the summit the two leaders also held a bilateral discussion lasting an hour on the sidelines of the summit and were seen sharing a car ride to the event venue.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has “greatly appreciated” India and other strategic partners for their role in supporting a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
“We highly value the efforts and proposals of China, India and our other strategic partners, aimed at facilitating the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis,” Putin said, speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit on Monday.
