At the United Nations on Friday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that India’s “Hindutva extremism” poses a serious threat to the world, while highlighting Pakistan’s victimhood of terrorism and mentioning the Jaffar Express incident. However, Pakistan has the maximum number of its nationals listed as terrorists on the UN international terror list.

“Pakistan agreed to the ceasefire facilitated by President Trump. Had Prez Trump not intervened, it would have been war. Prez Trump is a man of peace. We nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize, the least we could do,” Sharif said.

India On Trump’s Ceasefire Claim

Earlier in Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that no global leader had asked India to halt Operation Sindoor.

The Prime Minister, in his address, stated that on the night of May 9, U.S. Vice President JD Vance had tried to reach out to him, but they were unable to speak as he was busy in a meeting at the time.

“He kept trying for around an hour, but I was busy in a meeting with our armed forces. So, I could not take his call. Later, I called him back. The American Vice President informed me that Pakistan was planning a massive strike against India. My response was – if this is Pakistan’s desire, then it will cost them dearly. If Pakistan attacks, we will carry out a bigger strike,” he added.

Trump and his supporters also highlighted his role in easing tensions in regions such as the Korean Peninsula and emphasized his contributions to historic Middle East agreements.
