The design patent, officially issued on July 9, 2024, highlights the collaborative efforts of a skilled team of researchers, anthropologists, and designers. Led by Prof. Pulakes Purkait, a prominent Molecular Anthropologist, Translational Health Scientist, and Reproductive Geneticist, the development team focused on creating a device that is both intuitive for healthcare professionals and meets high clinical standards. Prof. Purkait, who also serves as the Director-HOD of ITHS at Rayat Bahra University, Co-Founder & Director of INNR, and Founder & Director of EMBRYOGENESIS, emphasized, “This patent is a significant milestone for our team. Ms. Jyoti Garhewal, Founder & Director of the Institute of Nutrigenetics & Nutrigenomics Research (INNR) and Institute of Translational Health Science (ITHS) in Chhattisgarh stated, “Our focus was on creating a design that is both functional and visually appealing. By integrating design thinking concepts, we ensured that the Digital Biothesiometer is user-friendly and meets the needs of healthcare professionals.”

Mr. Pritam Das, UGC Senior Research Fellow, Anthropologist and Junior Development Officer, added, “Our iterative process and continuous user feedback were key to refining the Digital Biothesiometer.
