We are aware of the fact that re-starting a career after a break is not easy. Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs (DTDL) is helping women with this transition throughย We Rise, an initiative that is designed to help women re-enter the workforce through a structured pathway.

The We Rise program offers:ย

  • Tailored Training Modules: Specialized training in technology and digital transformation ensures participants are equipped with the latest industry skills.

  • Mentorship Opportunities: Each participant is paired with a DTDL tech team member as mentor who provides essential guidance and support through the initial phases of interview and relearning the ropes of work environment.

  • Community Building: We Rise fosters a supportive network where participants can connect, share experiences and learn from like-minded individuals and other women from DTDL.

Accompanying We Rise, DTDL has launched multiple women specific initiatives such as Leap Ahead mentorship program, and Chhalaang 3.0, a women-only hackathon. These initiatives along with multiple inclusive policies and benefits underscore DTDLโ€™s broader commitment to empowering women in technology.

Speaking about diversity, Nihar Mathur, Head of People and Culture at DTDL, says, โ€œIn a world where diversity is increasingly recognised as a key driver of innovation and business performance, only 49% of companies hold their leaders accountable for DEIB outcomes. At DT Digital Labs, weโ€™ve been pioneers in creating a gender-inclusive culture since our inception. Our journey is a testament to our belief that DEIB isnโ€™t just a moral compass, but a strategic imperative. Research shows that diverse teams outperform homogeneous ones by up to 35%. By embedding DEIB into our leadership DNA, weโ€™re not just building a better company, weโ€™re shaping a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to their fullest potential.โ€

To foster an inclusive workplace culture, DTDL offers yearly unconscious bias training
called Spectrum Shift. This initiative aims to create an open and supportive
environment. The training focuses on removing biases from every aspect of the employee journey, from hiring practices to promotions.

These policies and initiatives not only support individual career growth but also contribute to creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce. DTDL is a leader in promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in the technology industry, an organisation that values inclusion and continuous learning.
