Security personnel have cordoned off the area, and parents have been notified. There are no reports of injuries or suspicious objects found so far.
Further details are awaited as the situation develops.
In July, bomb threats were also reported at St Stephen’s College and St Thomas School in Dwarka, just a day after three other schools in the capital received similar hoax emails. On 17 July alone, at least seven schools were targeted, marking the third consecutive day of such threats.
Police later traced one of the hoax emails to a 12-year-old boy from south Delhi, who had sent the message as a prank. The child was questioned, given counselling, and subsequently sent home.
Although all previous threats have turned out to be false alarms, the repeated incidents have sparked concern among parents and school authorities. Last month, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi criticised the Central government and the BJP-led civic administration, stating: “Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through. BJP controls all four engines of governance in Delhi, and is yet not able to provide any safety or security to our children! Shocking!”
Officials have said that precautionary evacuations will remain standard procedure until each individual threat is fully verified. Investigations are ongoing to trace the source of Sunday’s threat call made to DPS Dwarka.
