Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has shared her first reaction about the attack she faced earlier today during her public meetings. Taking to X, Gupta shared that the attack on her was a cowardly attempt on the resolve to serve Delhi. The Chief Minister further said such attacks cannot weaken her resolve to work for the people of Delhi.
Delhi CM Reacts To Attack
“The attack on me during this morning’s public hearing was not just an attack on me, but a cowardly attempt on our resolve to serve Delhi and work for the welfare of the people,” said the Chief Minister.

The BJP leader shared that she was in shock but is now feeling better. She also thanked her well-wishers. “Naturally, I was in shock after this attack, but now I am feeling better. I request all my well-wishers not to trouble themselves by coming to meet me. I will soon be seen working among you again,” said Gupta.
The Chief Minister further added that such attacks cannot break her spirit and she will now work with even more dedication. “Such attacks can never break my spirit or my resolve to serve the people. Now, I will be among you with even more energy and dedication than before. Public hearings and the resolution of people’s problems will continue with the same seriousness and commitment as before. Your trust and support are my greatest strength,” she said.

Attacker A Serial Offender
According to police officials, the man who was arrested for attacking Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is a “serial offender” and several cases have been registered against him in Rajkot in Gujarat, officials said. The accused Rajesh Khimji was arrested by Delhi Police and a case has been registered against him under section 109(1) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) (Attempt to murder) at the Civil Lines police station.
The CCTV footage obtained from the Chief Minister’s residence in Shalimar Bagh revealed that the attacker was planning the attack for the past 24 hours, Delhi CMO said on Wednesday. “The cowardly attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is part of a well-planned conspiracy. The CCTV footage obtained from the Chief Minister’s residence in Shalimar Bagh has made it clear that the attacker had started preparing for this attack at least 24 hours in advance,” CMO said. The attacker did recce of the CM’s residence and attempted the attack in a planned manner. The video has been handed over to the police, and an investigation is underway into the matter.
