At least 15 people were killed, including children, after a massive landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district buried a private bus under heavy debris near Ballu Bridge on Tuesday, as per media reports. Several passengers are feared trapped.
Excavation and rescue operations are continuing on a insident ground. Local administration, police, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operations, which continued late into the night, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bilaspur, Om Kant told ANI.
PM Modi Announces Ex Gratia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the person who lost their life due to a mishap in Bilaspur. “My thoughts are with the affected people and their families during this difficult time. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured,” he said.
PM Modi announced the ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs Rs. 50,000 for the injured.

CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Reaction:
The Chief Minister also prayed for the peace of the departed souls and instructed the district administration to expedite relief and rescue operations. He directed officials to ensure that all the injured are immediately taken to hospitals for treatment and provided with full medical care.
“Rescue operations are ongoing at a war footing. Instructions have been given to the authorities to deploy their full machinery. I am in touch with the local administration and am continuously receiving moment-by-moment updates on the entire rescue operation,” he said.
