Nagaland Governor La Ganesan Passes Away; PM Modi Expresses Grief

Nagaland Governor La Ganesan has reportedly died. According to media reports, Ganesan died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chennai on Friday. He was admitted to the ICU for intensive monitoring and treatment after collapsing at his home in Chennai on August 8 and sustaining a head injury.

PM Modi Expresses Grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the death of Nagaland Governor La Ganesan, describing him as a committed nationalist who devoted his life to public service, nation-building.

“Pained by the passing of Nagaland Governor Thiru La. Ganesan Ji. He will be remembered as a devout nationalist, who dedicated his life to service and nation-building. He worked hard to expand the BJP across Tamil Nadu. He was deeply passionate about Tamil culture too. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” PM Modi said on X. 

 

Nagaland Deputy CM Expresses Grief

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton also expressed grief over the demise of Governor La. Ganesan and recalled his humility, dignity and unwavering commitment to public welfare throughout his tenure.

“Deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland, Shri La. Ganesan Ji. Throughout his journey in public life, he carried himself with dignity, humility, and an unshakeable commitment to the welfare of the people,” Deputy CM Patton said in a post on X. 

 

G Kishan Reddy Expresses Grief

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy also expressed grief over the death of Nagaland Governor La Ganesan, describing him as a man of integrity and dedication who served the public, the BJP in Tamil Nadu, and the RSS with commitment.

“Shocked and saddened by the passing away of Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland, Thiru La. Ganesan Ji. From public welfare to serving @BJP4TamilNadu and @RSSorg he was a man with integrity and dedication. My condolences to his family and all his followers,” Reddy said in a post on X.

 

 

Ganesan was named the 21st Governor of Nagaland on February 12, 2023, and officially took charge of the position on February 20, 2023.
