Special Judge (NIA) Chander Jit Singh granted bail to Yudhvir Singh, also known as Sandhu, on the condition of furnishing a bail bond worth Rs 2 lakh along with two sureties of the same amount, in addition to other stipulations.
Court’s Aug 12 Order Noted No Other Cases Against Singh
In its August 12 order, the court noted that while the charge sheets filed against all accused in the case outline their previous involvement in various criminal matters, there was no mention—either in the charge sheet or in the NIA’s reply to the present bail application—that Yudhvir Singh was implicated in any case apart from the current one.
Defence Highlights Gaps In Investigation
Advocate Rajiv Mohan, representing Yudhvir Singh, argued that the investigation carried out by the prosecuting agency contained significant gaps and shortcomings, which were attempted to be bridged through a chargesheet making broad allegations of conspiring to commit a terrorist act.
