Past Porsche Incident in Pune
This incident comes after a previous Porsche accident in Pune in May 2024, which had sparked nationwide outrage. In that case, a minor allegedly driving under the influence crashed into two IT professionals in Kalyani Nagar, killing them on the spot.
The incident in Pune drew public anger after the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) granted bail to the minor under lenient conditions, including submitting a 300-word essay on road safety. The case prompted the Women and Child Development Department to form a panel to review the JJB’s handling of bail for minors.
The Pune police later filed a 900-page chargesheet against seven accused, including the parents of the juvenile involved in the fatal accident.
